A conversation with Walter Shaub, former Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics

Since even before Inauguration Day, President Trump and others in his administration have been under well-deserved scrutiny for serious conflicts of interest that could negatively impact the public good.  Walter Shaub was on the front lines of this battle, attempting in his role as the director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics to hold the President and his appointees to the ethical standards that would ensure that our government officials are working in our interests instead of lining their own pockets – standards that every President in modern history, except this one, have upheld. 

Join CAPI and SJI as we host a discussion with Mr. Shaub in which he will describe his work, the importance of ethics in government, the failure of the Trump administration to provide a clean and accountable Presidency, and what he and others are doing about it. *Information Regarding New York CLE Credits:

Columbia Law School has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board as an Accredited Provider of CLE programs. Under New York State CLE regulations, this live non-transitional CLE Program will provide 1 credit hour that can be applied toward the Ethics & Professionalism requirement. CLE credit is awarded only to New York attorneys for full attendance of the Program in its entirety. Attorneys attending only part of a Program are not eligible for partial credit for it, although they are most welcome to attend it. Attendance is determined by an attorney's sign-in and sign-out, as shown in the Conference registers. On sign-out, attorneys should also submit their completed Evaluation Form, provided at the Conference. Please note the NYS Certificates of Attendance will be sent to the email address as it appears in the register unless otherwise noted there.
