Senior Fellow
Rich Gross is General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer for Janus Global Operations. In this role, he is responsible for leading corporate strategic, operational, and tactical legal initiatives; providing senior management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation; managing the legal function; overseeing compliance and risk management activities; and obtaining and overseeing the work of outside counsel. Prior to joining JGO, Gross served as a partner at the law firm of FH&H PLLC, which focuses on corporate and business transactions; litigation and investigations; international trade and transactions; government contracts; and employment law. Gross also has extensive knowledge and experience in national security law and international law.
Prior to joining FH&H, Gross served over 30 years in the US Army, retiring at the rank of brigadier general. In his final military assignment, he served as the Legal Counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Before that, he served as the principal legal counsel to US Central Command, the NATO International Security Assistance Force and US Forces-Afghanistan, and the Joint Special Operations Command.
Gros serves on the boards of The Independence Fund, Military Community Youth Ministries, and After the Impact Fund. He has a BSc in Computer Science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, an LL.M. in Military Law from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s School, and an MA in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
