Learning Outcome Goals

Primary Goals

  • At the end of the course, students will have an understanding of the promises, challenges, and critiques of engaging human rights strategies to advance U.S.-focused social justice legal advocacy efforts.
  • At the end of the course, students will have acquired a grounding in the various U.S. human rights advocacy strategies, including litigation, policy advocacy, international and regional engagement, grassroots engagement, and fact-finding and reporting.

Secondary Goals

  • At the end of the course, students will have acquired understanding of and/or facility in ethical and professional issues related to U.S. human rights advocacy.
