Learning Outcome Goals

Primary Goals

  • The goal is to increase understanding of key principles of criminal, civil, and family law that impact access to justice for US litigants, and to provide practical information about how courts operate.
  • The goal is to increase awareness of how diverse communities are impacted by access to justice issues, and to increase understanding of how recent administrative, legislative and court actions affect the ability to bring court cases.

Secondary Goals

  • Improve analytical ability including writing ability and increase recognition of the role of the courts and the judiciary in access to justice.
  • Increase understanding of ethical conflicts.
