2013 Pre-Graduation Schedule
Feb. 12: J.D. Graduation Informational Meeting, 12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m., Room 104 in Jerome Greene Hall.
Feb. 14: LL.M. Graduation Informational Meeting, 12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m., Room 104 in Jerome Greene Hall
Feb. 20-21 & Feb. 27: Portrait shots with GradImages, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Drapkin Lounge. Information about making an appointment to have your picture taken will be distributed via email as the dates approach.
Feb. 26-March 8: Class Speaker Election. Choose whom to hear from at graduation. One 3L and one LL.M. will be selected by you as your graduation speakers.
Feb. 26-March 4: Willis L.M. Reese Prize for Excellence in Teaching Election. Vote for the professor whose teaching has had the largest impact on your class.
March 7 Deadline: Enter name pronunciation information on LawNet. If you do not enter your pronunciation information, you will not be able to order your cap and gown. All students must enter their pronunciation information.
March 12-March 14: Graduation Fair at the Bookstore, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., University Bookstore, Lerner Hall. Cap and gown fitting/ordering and graduation vendors (rings, announcements, diploma frames, etc.).
March 29 Deadline: Submit names of guests in wheelchairs and guests who require ASL interpretation, close captioning or other assistance to studentservices@law.columbia.edu.
March 29 Deadline: Submit names and ages of children (yours!) whom you like to have join you as you walk across the stage at Graduation to studentservices@law.columbia.edu. More information to follow via email.
April 9-11: Ticket Distribution, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., 5th floor, William and June Warren Hall.
April 19 Deadline: University Commencement Registration closes for eligible graduates.
April 22 Deadline: Cap & Gown Order, 9 p.m.
Orders must be completed and turned in to the bookstore. As noted above, you will not be able to order your regalia until you enter your pronunciation information in addition to picking up your Graduation Handbook. Orders after this date will not be paid for by the Law School, and students will be responsible for the cost of late orders themselves, including the rental and late fee.
May 7 Deadline: Absolute last day to place doctoral cap and gown order for guaranteed delivery of correct gown and hood lining colors. As noted above, students who miss the April deadline for ordering their cap and gown are responsible for all costs and the additional late fee.
May 9: Rental gown distribution to students begins (for orders placed by April 22) and continues through graduation day. Gowns are to be picked up at the Columbia Bookstore.
May 22: University Commencement, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

9 a.m.: Meet in Jerome Greene Hall Lobby

9:15 a.m.: Move into lineup at Revson Plaza

Pick up diplomas in Jerome Greene Hall immediately following Commencement
May 23: Law School Graduation on campus, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

2 p.m.: Line up for graduating students in Jerome Greene Hall.

Reception: Reception immediately following Law School Graduation on Hamilton Lawn adjacent to the ceremony (In the case of inclement weather, rain location will be announced.)

Class photo taken on risers in front of Butler Library.
June 7 Deadline: Last day to return rental regalia to the Columbia Bookstore.
