
Law School GraduationGraduates must line up in Jerome Greene Hall no later that 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. Upon arrival in the Jerome Greene lobby, a Columbia Law School staff member will direct graduates to the appropriate area. Again, please remember to wear your cap and gown. Please do not bring anything other than what you can carry under your robe. You will not have access to your guests. The gates to the seating area will open for guests at 2:45 p.m. at 115th Street and Broadway. Guests with special needs should enter at 116th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. and end at approximately 5:45 p.m. A reception will immediately follow on Hamilton Lawn (adjacent to the ceremony on South Lawn) with the rain location for the reception under the tent on Ancell Plaza and in Jerome Greene Hall.
All graduates will line up in alphabetical order under the direction of the graduation marshals. The graduates will proceed across Revson Plaza, past Kent Hall, down the stairs and past the entrance to Butler Library to their seats. When the time for presenting the graduates begins, graduates will line up in order by the side of the stage. Upon hearing his/her name, each graduate will cross the stage, one at a time, to shake hands with Dean Schizer.
The Class of 2013 will be addressed by keynote speaker Preet Bharara ’93, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Christine Brozynski, JD '13, and Josephina Tapia, LLM '13.
For Commencement, you must meet in the Jerome Greene Lobby by 9 a.m. and must be in line on Revson Plaza no later than 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22. Please remember to wear your cap and gown and carry your CUID or your Registration Confirmation page. All graduates will begin the procession at 10 a.m. The University Commencement ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. on College Walk and the steps of Low Library and end at approximately 12:00 p.m. Your guests will be seated in designated areas listed on the back of your commencement tickets.
