Columbia Law School 2016-17 Moot Workshop: Friday, September 16
For those of you who are going on the academic teaching market this year, or who are interested in it for a future year, we are happy to announce a one-day Moot Workshop to be held at the law school on Friday, September 16, 2016.
This Workshop will offer current candidates the opportunity to present their job-talk papers before Columbia faculty and other scholars in order to prepare for the AALS Faculty Recruitment Conference and subsequent callbacks. The Moot Workshop is free, and lunch, dinner and too much coffee will be provided.
We invite anyone with a CLS connection to apply to present at the Moot Workshop.
July 11: Deadline for submitting an abstract of your paper for the Moot Workshop. Abstracts should be no longer than one page.
August 10: AALS Registration Deadline for the first distribution of candidates’ forms. We strongly urge 2016-17 candidates to register for this first distribution. Information about the AALS recruitment process can be found here.
August 22: Deadline for Moot Workshop participants to submit the paper itself, so that it can be distributed to Columbia faculty in your field.
September 16: Moot Workshop
October 13-15: AALS Conference
All correspondence regarding the Moot Workshop – including submissions of papers and abstracts – should be addressed in the first instance to the Program’s Administrative Director, Marianne Carroll. Marianne can be reached at email@example.com and 212-854-0653.
