Treaty Reporting

HRI works to coordinate and improve human rights treaty implementation at the federal, state and local levels.   We submit shadow reports to inform the treaty monitoring bodies' review of U.S. compliance with the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the Convention Against Torture (CAT).  In addition, HRI coordinates and provides technical support to human rights advocates and other civil society actors in their shadowing reporting efforts and engages in advocacy to improve US accountability and foster support for state and local implementation of human rights treaty obligations.
