Welcoming Remarks: Hannah L. Zale ’15 and Eamonn Wesley Campbell ’15
Eamonn Wesley Campbell ’15
It is our honor, on behalf of our classmates, to thank all of you for joining us today at our graduation. Regardless of whether you’ve travelled across continents to be here, or simply walked up Amsterdam Avenue, your presence is paramount. We must, however, thank you for more than just your attendance this morning. This morning, while important, is just a single showing of the support you’ve sent us the past three years and, in fact, our entire lives. Thank you, all of you—our moms, our dads, our spouses, our siblings, our grandparents, our children, our family, and our friends, whether here today, watching online, or no longer with us—for everything you’ve given. We are, all of us, immensely, sincerely, and eternally grateful.
We must also express our gratitude to the faculty and administrators sitting here on stage. Your passion for teaching and for Columbia Law School gave us a life-altering educational experience. Thank you for inspiring and for challenging us.
Finally, thank you, to you, our fellow classmates, the Class of 2015 family. Tomorrow, we start a new chapter in our lives and, whether we become colleagues or adversaries, clients or counsels in the future, we will always be friends. Thank you.
It is now my honor to introduce Dean Lester, Columbia Law School’s 15th dean.
