Edward Klaris is vice president of editorial assets and rights at Condé Nast Publications.

He is responsible for all copyright and trademark licensing at the company, along with business affairs, business development, brand extensions, international magazines, archives, libraries, and e-commerce. Klaris was the general counsel of The New Yorker from 2000 to 2006. Before The New Yorker, he was media counsel at ABC, Inc. from 1997 to 2000.  

He started his legal career at Davis Wright Tremaine, where he litigated media law and copyright cases. Klaris is the chairman of the board of Pilobolus Dance Theatre.

Klaris earned his J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, and graduated from Vassar College.
