Douglas M. Bregman is a founding partner of Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday.

Bregman has maintained a general civil practice for more than 35 years concentrating in transactional real estate and business representation, real estate and business dispute mediation and arbitration, and civil litigation.  

Among his many appointments, Bregman serves on the Maryland Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission, the board of directors of the Maryland Client Protection Fund, the Court of Appeals Public Trust and Confidence Committee (Maryland), and the board of directors of the Montgomery County, Maryland Bar Association Foundation.

He was the recipient of the Georgetown University Law Center’s Charles Fahy Distinguished Adjunct Professor of the Year Award in 2008.

Bregman is the author of Maryland Landlord-Tenant Law, Practice and Procedure, Fourth Edition, LexisNexis, 2009 and Successful Real Estate Negotiation (with Peter G. Miller), Harper Perennial, 1994.

Bregman earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1974. He received his B.A. from Colgate University in 1971.
