This colloquium will introduce students to the current research in tax policy and will give them an opportunity to develop skills in reading and critiquing contemporary legal scholarship. Following four introductory sessions, the colloquium will shift to a series of weekly paper presentations by leading tax scholars and public finance economists from around the country. Students will be required to submit brief response papers in advance of the presentations, and will be expected to actively participate during class discussions. Final grades will be based on the response papers and in-class participation. The class will include some students from SIPA and will be co-taught by Wojciech Kopczuk, a professor from the CU department of economics.
