This course will focus upon liability for physical injuries and proprietary damages inflicted by accident. Within this framework, we will articulate the concepts of negligence, strict liability and causation, as evolved at common law. We will also discuss medical malpractice and government liability.
The course's casebook is Marc A. Franklin, Robert L. Rabin & Michael D. Green, Tort Law And Alternatives: Cases And Materials (9th ed., Foundation Press, 2011). Updates will be posted.
