Promoting Resilience in the Health Sector
(Climate Action Plan, p. 14.)
- The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is to launch an effort to create sustainable and resilient hospitals. In public-private partnership with the healthcare industry, HHS is to identify best practices and provide guidance on affordable measures to ensure resiliency. HHS is to collaborate with partner agencies to share best practices among federal health facilities.
- HHS is to train public-health professionals and community leaders to prepare communities for health consequences of climate change, building on pilot projects in 16 states and including effective communication of health risks and resilience measures.
