
Security is required for high-attendance, high-profile, and/or weekend events. Building Services will secure a charge account number prior to the event to insure payment. For current security service rates and estimates, please email us.
For events, classes, and other functions, furniture—in addition to or instead of Law School inventory and linens—is rented through the University’s Special Events department. An account number to charge for rentals is requested before the event.
The cost for any event requiring Facilities Management support is calculated based on factors such as time of day, day of week, amount of time, and the cost of associated materials required to complete the job. There is a one-hour minimum labor charge for all jobs. Hourly rates include associated fringe and management costs. The different types, sizes, and volume of events coordinated by Special Events makes it difficult to provide estimates for every event type. For on-campus catering services, please make arrangements with the caterers of your choice. On-site catering can be arranged through Columbia Crown Catering. Contact Lioni Runco at 212-854-1464.

Once you have reserved a space for your event, standard orders may be placed in one of three ways for your convenience:
Upon receiving your order we will reply with a fax confirmation. At this time, please take the opportunity to review your order and make any necessary changes. It is necessary to sign off on the order and fax it back to Columbia University Catering at the fax number above. We suggest a personal meeting to discuss all special events.
** For all functions that require staff, the 15% service charge will not be capped. Staffing charges are included in this service charge.
