For more than a century, Columbia Law School has educated students who, having already earned a basic law degree, wish to pursue an advanced course of full-time study in furtherance of careers in teaching, public service, or the international practice of law.
Each year, the Law School enrolls approximately 250 graduate students from more than 50 jurisdictions in our Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D) degree programs. Their experience spans all areas of the legal profession—including academia, the judiciary, public service, civil rights and human rights advocacy, NGOs, international organizations, and private practice. Law School students interact with unrivaled faculty and highly accomplished students; work hard; are treated exceptionally well; and obtain a degree that represents the best that U.S. legal education can offer. This remarkable community of individuals makes the school an especially dynamic and vibrant community in which to study law. LL.M. Application Deadline Extended to January 5, 2015
We understand that the LSAC LLM Website will be unavailable for most of the day on Sunday, December 14, so applicants will be unable to access their online applications during that time. As our original application deadline was set for two days later, December 16, and the Office of Graduate Legal Studies will be closed soon thereafter for the winter holidays, we have decided to extend our deadline to January 5, 2015. The Columbia online application through LSAC must be submitted by January 5 and all supporting documents for the CAS report must be postmarked to LSAC by January 5. We hope this helps, and wish everyone a very happy holiday season.
Representatives from the Columbia Law School LL.M. Admissions Office will be traveling to select cities abroad to meet with prospective students this fall. For more information, see LL.M. Admissions Events.
