The 2016-2017 Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship
The Indian government has underwritten the Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship to support graduate students at Columbia Law School who wish to specialize in the study of WTO law and multilateralism in trade, and their merits vis-à-vis plurilateral trade initiatives such as TTIP and TPP.
The Law School offers a comprehensive course in this area, co-taught by Professors Jagdish Bhagwati (Economics) and Petros C. Mavroidis (Law). In addition, the Law School and other divisions of Columbia University offer specialized seminars in international trade law and related topics.
The Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship will provide partial to full funding for up to three fellows per academic year.
To be eligible for the Jagdish Bhagwati LL.M. Fellowship, applicants must first meet the admission criteria and be admitted to the LL.M. Program at Columbia Law School. For more information, visit:
A complete Jagdish Bhagwati LL.M. Fellowship Application consists of:

Additionally, if as part of your LL.M. studies you are interested in conducting research in the area of international trade, detail your research agenda in your essay.
